Traición en Copan

In this chapter of our story we return to Copan. Col Verduga has been fighting the US invasion down in the FEB but at serious cost to FARIS in Copan. General Atticus Guerrero, commander of the 1st Copan Commandos has assigned a new field commander CPT Pablo Gallan to take the fight to FARIS. Without Col Verduga in Copan to command it seems FARIS is vulnerable and has fallen prey to the commandos executing several lightning raids, leaving FARIS crippled. Copan now stands at a tipping point in which there’s a real opportunity to end the insurgency that has plagued the small democracy. With their demise almost certain, Col Verduga has decided to ignore orders to stay in the FEB by the regime and is planning his return to Copan to try and save the guerrilla force from annihilation. With this in mind the US has decided to pull SFC Bubba Moore out of the FEB and bring the American might of the Rangers and SF ODA to fight in Copan. The destruction of FARIS and even possibly Col Verduga would have ripples in the region that would also impact the FEB conflict that is currently locked in stalemate.
The questions remains, will FARIS survive the current siege it is under?
Can Col Verduga turn the tide that seems overwhelming?
What will the FEB do as they see their surrogates in Copan fall?
Is Col Verduga walking into the kill zone only to give Bubba Moore the victory he’s been hunting for?

Faction Description

Our approach for Traición en Copan is simple; Pick the team you would like to participate in based on what you want out of the game. Our events are immersive regardless, but some units will offer you more time in the hot seat interacting with a role player/s which are heavily reliant on your wits. Other units will need tactically savvy individuals. Both require you to use your head for mission success whether you’re pulling a trigger or not.

US/Copan Joint Task Force(Tan side)

US Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha 4413 (Green Berets) (Limited Slots)
As an SF team member, you will operate the area of responsibility with your partner force- the Copanian Commandos. You conduct all missions with and through the Commandos. This is no easy task; it takes leadership, diplomacy and tactical skills. You are expected to lead from the front and hope they follow your advice since you are not in charge of the commandos, they are their own country’s military strike force but working together you make a very formidable force. You will have to balance Copanian leadership’s expectations and that of your own in order to accomplish the mission. You will be challenged like never before using your wits.
You will need civilian clothing to blend in with the population at times and a multicam based uniform when going on combat ops as needed. These positions are meant for Centurion veterans who are no strangers to immersive role playing; these will be the most serious and demanding challenges Centurion has ever created.
An ODA has several military occupation specialties (MOS) which can be sorted out on the planning page once enlisted. Descriptions below:
DETACHMENT COMMANDER (18A): The detachment commander is a captain and has full command authority and responsibility for his detachment. Schooled in the art of unconventional warfare and in foreign internal defense. The detachment commander may also advise an indigenous battalion-size combat force.
ASSISTANT DETACHMENT COMMANDER (180A): The assistant detachment commander is the ODA’s second in command. He is a warrant officer who has been selected from within the Special Forces community’s enlisted ranks. Often works to analyze and gather intelligence, and as a 2nd command control node.
OPERATIONS (TEAM) SERGEANT (18Z): The Special Forces operations sergeant, better known as the team sergeant, is usually a master sergeant and is responsible for all operational aspects of the ODA. The team sergeant is the ODA’s senior NCO and typically is the most experienced Green Beret on the detachment.
INTELLIGENCE SERGEANT (18F): The assistant operations and intelligence sergeant is usually a sergeant first class and is trained in advanced special operations techniques, including intelligence collection and processing and target analysis.
WEAPONS SERGEANT (18B): The weapons sergeant is an expert in the employment of U.S. and foreign weapons systems, including small arms, mortars, air defense systems and antitank weapons found throughout the world. The weapons sergeant also employs conventional and unconventional tactics and techniques as a tactical mission leader and assists the detachment operations sergeant in the preparation of training and operational plans.
ENGINEER SERGEANT (18C): The engineer sergeant is highly skilled in the planning and constructing of buildings and bridges — as well as in their demolition. His knowledge of construction techniques includes expertise in creating buildings and field fortifications, and the engineer sergeant is also skilled in all areas of demolitions, including land mine warfare and constructing and using improvised munitions.
MEDICAL SERGEANT (18D): The medical sergeant is well versed in trauma management, infectious diseases, cardiac life support and surgical procedures. He can also perform basic veterinarian medicine. Medical sergeants provide emergency, routine, and long-term medical care for their teams and associated allied members and host nation personnel. They train, advise, and direct indigenous medical personnel in routine, emergency and preventive medical care.
COMMUNICATIONS SERGEANT (18E): The communications sergeant is an expert in sending and receiving critical communications to the ODA’s command and control elements. Communications sergeants are familiar with cryptographic systems, burst outstation systems, antenna theory and radio wave propagation and common radios found throughout the Army. Communications sergeants install, operate and maintain FM, AM, HF, VHR, UHF and SHF communications in voice and burst radio networks. They advise the detachment commander on all communications matters.

Uniform: You will need civilian clothing to blend in with the population at times and a tan uniform when going on combat ops as needed. Refer to TACSOP for specific authorized patterns.

Copanian Commandos
You are a commando for the Republic of Copan; a budding democratic country who needs US support during the Copanian Civil War. This US-trained Copanian military unit, ‘1o Comando Batallion,’ was stood up under the leadership of Copanian General Atticus Guerrero in 2018. The unit originated from the Gatos Negros, 1st Battalion, 45th Light Infantry. They were reflagged as commandos after receiving extensive training in strike force, airborne and air assault operations.
Commandos are a professional and well-equipped fighting force; you will wear OD Green uniforms, modern kit (helmet and plate carriers), and use western weapons. You are also citizens of Copan allowing you to operate in civilian and enemy influenced areas under the right guise. The mission may call for you to go into town to gather intel in civilian clothing.
You will operate under the guidance of US Green Berets but make no mistake, you are part of your own military with your own chain of command. Rolling as a Commando will be challenging as you work with your US counterparts while meeting the expectations of your Copanian leadership. You will be able to go on direct action missions you helped gather intel for to see if your intel-gathering efforts bear fruit in eliminating the FARIS threat to your country.

Uniform: You will need civilian clothing to blend in with the population at times and an OD green uniform when going on combat ops as needed. You are a professional soldier working with the US forces so you will need an OD green or Ranger green top and bottom. OD green is the only camo pattern authorized for Commandos.

US Army Rangers
As part of the Rangers you will wreak havoc on anything your leadership points at. Forced entry, direct action and destruction are all part of your repertoire. You are the tip of the spear in delivering the armed response to US policy. If you are new to Centurion and the immersive experience and/or would rather run and gun this is your faction. No civilian clothing needed, multicam only (original and arid) and bring your best kit; you are an overt force.

Uniform: You will be almost exclusively in uniform. Bring civilian cloths in case but your uniform will be Multicam top and bottom. Multicam is the only camo pattern authorized for Rangers

FARIS insurgency(Green side)

FARIS – Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias para la Igualdad Social (see Revolutionary Armed Forces for Social Equality)
You are a guerrilla in the Revolutionary Armed Forces for Social Equality (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias para la Igualdad Social - FARIS); an insurgent force fighting the government of Copan and the American imperialists. FARIS also operates as a proxy force for the Federation of Bolivarian States (see FEB) who is seeking greater influence in Latin America and who are staunch anti-US government. The revolutionary movement is headed by Colonel Verduga and is composed of mostly poor rural agricultural workers and disenfranchised people of Copan.
FARIS has secret units, Escuadron Rojo and Escuadron Azul, that carry out assassinations, kidnappings, extortion, counterintelligence, propaganda and sabotage. They have carried out many successful assassinations and are exceedingly good at finding moles in their organization. Their operational security is among the best in the world using some of the finest and most modern Russian made encrypting devices. You cannot just enlist in these elite units, you are hand selected for special missions and if successful, may be allowed to join their secretive ranks.
As a guerrilla fighter you are poorly equipped, using Eastern weapons and load bearing equipment such as LBEs and chest racks (no body armor or helmets). FARIS fighters often wear an assortment of green based uniforms to blend into the jungle and wear civilian clothing to disappear among the population when going underground or conducting special operations. Insurgents are the underdog and do what they can to carry on their fight using use every tool at their disposal in order to defeat their much stronger adversaries. Fighting fair is not in their repertoire.

Uniform: You will need civilian clothing to blend in with the population at times and a green based mixed uniform for when fighting as a unit on combat ops. Refer to TACSOP for specific authorized patterns.
